PRIORITIZE WORK Canter operator must be able to effectively prioritize what to work on first, what to direct attention to and how the flow of the mill works – the focus is how to minimize the down-time of each canter line; The main priority is keeping logs continuously flowing through both canter lines. This is accomplished by: - Having a log supply at the log sorts; and - Logs being processed through the debarkers; and - Having a log supply at the debarker infeeds. Note: If the canter operator is ever working with utility, supervisor or maintenance on a task that requires their full attention in order to complete that task safely then that item will always take priority. |
