RESPONSIBILITIES The canter operator is the individual most responsible for production in the sawmill. The canter operator’s primary responsibilities are to: Have all equipment started and ready to run prior to the shift starting. Maintain a consistent flow of logs through the debarker infeed decks and through the debarkers. Maintain a consistent flow of logs into the log sort and into the canter infeeds. Maintain a consistent flow of logs through the canter lines and a consistent flow of lumber out of the canter lines. Efficiently troubleshoot causes of machine stops in order to get the machines back running safely and quickly. |
